Hi. I’m Kelly.

Inner creative. Outer strategist. Definite point of view.

Brands (and Joey) are my life.

SPEAKER SHEET PRESS KIT

"Brand" has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I was young, I was more interested in the commercials than the TV program. Barbie was queen and any other doll was a snoozer. Except for Baby Drowsy. She was the bomb. I would drag her around by her hair before I could even speak words. Mattel brought her back a few years ago and I received her as a Christmas gift from my son. Best day ever... two of my fave peeps!

Crayola Crayons were my favorite “toys” and continue to be even today. Fun fact: I once submitted new crayon color names when they had a contest. Sadly I never won, but I had fun coming up with crazy names.

Graduating high school, I wanted a themed graduation party. Everything was black and white (my fave colors at the time). Even the roses were dyed black - something I realized florists frowned upon. Spray painted red roses were a faux pas, I guess! The guests didn't hate them because I was asked by a few to plan their parties and all of a sudden an 18 year old girl found herself an entrepreneur while in college by creating an event and party planning business called Innovations by Kelly.

Continuing to choose a creative path, I spent my corporate years at Colle & McVoy, an advertising agency, Rollerblade where I was part of the marketing team that launched the groundbreaking lifestyle product and sport, and working for three of the Top 5 Home builders in North America.

I was a corporate girl through and through… and then one day everything changed. When my only child, Joey (whom I raised alone) was in second grade, I came home from work and he was crying. When I asked him what was wrong he told me that I missed something very important at school. When I asked why he didn’t tell me he responded with, “you’re never here”. The next day I quit my corporate job and started my own business. In that moment I recognized I only had one chance with that beautiful boy, so I took it and never looked back.

Now, I’m a 30 year young veteran in both marketing and sales. I have been fortunate to work with some phenomenal Fortune 500 brands, most notably the Ryland Group, Pulte Group, RE/MAX, Pearle Vision, and Rollerblade. I also had the privilege of working with Mattamy Homes, Canada’s largest home builder (and only second to Pepsi in brand recognition).

I officially re-Branded to Re-Tool Marketing in 2012. RTM is made up of a team of seasoned strategic creatives brought together for one mission, to develop and execute work that gets noticed, inspires, provokes, and converts and it's through my work at RTM that I've been able to share the stage with the likes of Kevin Harrington, Original Shark from Shark Tank and Linda McMahon, former CEO of the WWE.

In my “free” time, I created a children’s book and educational product, Bye Bye Monster  which was featured at Neiman Marcus and at the MN State Fair. I was even able to partner with Jenny McCarthy as a contributor to her Generation Rescue Foundation.
