So, what is brand anyway? And more importantly, why should you care?

Have you ever wondered where the term branding came from? It began as a simple solution for a person to differentiate his cattle from his neighbor’s…just in case they were to get mixed up while grazing in the fields.
WHEN IT BECAME SEXY:
Now, fast forward to the advertising days of Mad Men and you’ll find that the 1950’s and 60’s are when agencies began to really romanticize the notion of brand. Suddenly, brands were more than a name. They become a symbol of quality.
PERCEPTION IS REALITY:
Today, brand is the relationship, the “feeling” someone has with or towards a product, service, company, or person. It’s the difference between a customer choosing one product or service over another. Their “feeling” about the brand determines whether or not they ultimately BUY.
